Topic: The call to new life

Title: Conversion – the springtime of the soul

 

Truth Verse: Song of Solomon 2:11, 12   See! The winter is past; the rains are over and

gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the (spring) season of singing has come, the cooing

of doves is heard in our land. 

 

Truth Story: Our verse today is a wonderful picture of the change that happens as the

winter season ends followed by the contrasting ‘new life’ season of springtime. Spring

flowers are beautiful and fragrant. Changing seasons have a profound effect on plant and animal life. Spring is the time of renewal of plant life. Nature awakens in spring, and spring flowers blossom. Bulbs come into bloom, plants and trees sprout new leaves. The number of daylight hours increases during spring, in marked contrast to the cold dark winter that has past.

Truth Unpacked: The call to new life in Christ is like springtime of the soul – not by works of righteousness which we have done by according to His mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

God has appointed times and seasons for the journey our lives! The Holy Spirit’s season to awaken the soul is the miracle of conversion...the season of singing has come, the dove of the Spirit has, in a moment, caused rebirth and renewal of your heart. Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for redeeming my soul from eternal judgment and granting me new life in Christ my Saviour.  Lord, please send a fresh season of spiritual conversions amongst my friends, work colleagues and family. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
