Introduction to Truth Unpacked

Why Truth Unpacked?

“Truth, like gold, is not less so for being newly brought out of the mine.” (John Locke) The writer of Proverbs indicates that it is the glory of God to conceal a matter but the honour of kings to search it out.  Following principles of hermeneutics (the art and science of interpreting the bible) we can gain a fresh appreciation of the eternal truths found in this rich seam of gold known as the Old and New testaments.

Each training session requires preparation of heart and mind, prayer-reading the preceding daily devotional assignments listed.  Together, we explore how “the Old is in the New revealed, the New is in the Old concealed; the Old is in the new Unfolded, the New is in the Old enfolded.” The scriptures are the ‘word of truth’ comprising 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament.

Truth Unpacked is a systematic series of devotional readings that aim to help us unearth precious life-giving eternal principles, which when found, we are encouraged to buy and not to sell!

By illustrating, unpacking and applying bible verses we will be better equipped to be Jesus’ disciples in the Kingdom of God today.

As you read, please ask the Spirit of Truth to guide you, as He 'testifies of Jesus', 'the way the truth and the life'. Jesus said - If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. As we are transformed, daily, by the renewing of our minds may Truth ‘like a gentle shower, soak through your ears and moistens your intellect.’  May it be something that is ‘cherished and hoarded and disbursed only when absolutely necessary.’

I trust that these two courses will establish, equip and empower local church communities to continue to share the grace and love of Christ in our neighbourhoods. The primary agenda of the course is the extension of the Kingdom of God; in our hearts and minds, attitudes and behaviour.

The primary aims of these 2 topical courses are:

1.   To ensure disciples are both established on a sure foundation and partnering with a local church - Foundational Truth Unpacked

2.   To help transform disciples, to reflect Christ-like attitudes and  characteristics, to make truth incarnational Christ likeness Unpacked in Everyday Extraordinary Lives
