Title: D.I.Y. Christianity
Truth Verse: Acts 2:42,46 They devoted themselves ... Every day they continued.
Truth Story: The Swedish furniture IKEA has a vision to create a better everyday life for
everyone. Their business idea supports this vision by offering a wide range of
well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people
as possible will be able to afford them. If you have invested in some of their D.I.Y. self
assembly furniture, you will know both the challenges of finding your way out of the one
way system and the joy of turning a flat pack into an aesthetically pleasing piece of
furniture. The instructions and diagrams for assembly are always included yet I am always
amazed having pieces left over!!
Truth Unpacked: Over this past month we have looked at the manufacturer’s instruction guide – the scriptures, which are able to make us wise unto salvation. The daily devotionals have been designed as a guide, to help you continue on your faith- journey. Now that foundations truths have been established from the scripture we are encouraged to go on to maturity. Like new born babies are weaned from drinking milk to being introduced to baby foods and then on to solids, may your faith ever grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. I trust that your spiritual senses will grow too to discern between good and evil.
My hope is that, as we have mined and unearthed various facets of foundational Christian truth, you will now continue to devote yourselves every day to be renewed in the spirit of your mind through reading the good Word of God.
May you continue to walk in freedom, counteracting the accusations of the enemy of your soul, by feeding your faith and starving your doubts.
The Lord has won the victory on the Cross, but now we are to individually contend for the faith once delivered to the saints by fighting the fight of faith – this is the victory that overcomes, even our faith.
Prayer:
Lord let the Spirit of Truth continue to guide me. You testify of Jesus, the way the truth and the life. Lord, please help me to hold to your teaching, that I may really be your disciple. When I know the truth, it’s the truth that will set me free. Amen
